Donna Burns
My teaching career began in Room 40 as a student teacher under the expert example of Mrs. Zack and continues 25 years later in Room 24 teaching fourth grade. For the past 16 years I have been a resident of Fruitport and have raised my three children here. I earned my bachelor degree at Central Michigan University, my master degree at Western Michigan University, and worked with Dr. Glasser to become certified in Reality Therapy and I am a Highly Qualified Teacher. Teaching is my passion and I strive to help all children excel and love learning.
When I am not teaching, planning or continuing to further my education I spend as much time as possible with my family. My oldest son, Bill is graduated from Michigan Technological University where he earned a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Haleigh finished last May from Grand Valley University with a bachelor degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Katlynn will graduate next May with a duo major in Nursing and Hospice. All three are currently working in their field of study. My late husband and I are also blessed by an amazing granddaughter, Caylin, the daughter of my step-son Aaron.
